She found a number of writers exposing the stark reality regarding the pathetic lives of women in various Muslim societies, including their own experiences. This book is a study of prestigious women writers like Ayaan Hirsi Ali, Wafa Sultan, Yasmine Mohammed and others. It also includes scholars like Ibn Warraq and Majid Rafizadeh, an ambassador for the National Iranian American Council in Washington DC. All these writers are delineating their horrific and emotional journeys through tough times with archaic cultural demands. All are dealing with myopic societies and the heart-rending struggles of women and their hope for peaceful and harmonious world which can create self-esteem as a human being.

Dr. Shruti Kikani Anerao is an author, translator and academician for over thirty years. She has three biographies to her credit and one book on V.S. Naipaul's Indian Travelogues. She is a columnist in Gujarati magazines and has published many research articles in renowned journals and books. She achieved her Master of Arts in English Literature from Gujarat University and pursued her doctoral research. She had been instrumental in establishing School of Languages at Gujarat Technological University.
